Melendy was born in North Carolina, and raised in Houston, Texas .When she graduated from high school, she received a
scholarship to study at the renowned Alley Theater in Houston. She was then hired to be the company at the Playhouse Theatre,
and toured with the stars of that day in theatre productions throughout Texas. While she was starring in a musical in Texas, she
was spotted by the producer of a musical revue and was asked to join as lead singer and comedy actress. She went with the review
to Las Vegas, was featured in the revue, and appeared on television as it's lead singer. After a year, she married and moved to
San Francisco, where she worked in theatre. She then moved back to Las Vegas, sang and acted again with the revue and also as
a solo singer at the casino and was spotted by an agent who convinced her to come to LA . She signed with his agency, and began
working in Films and Television. From playing comedic roles , to desperate housewives and villainesses, to alcoholics and
compassionate mothers , her versatile gifts as an actress have always been apparent. After roles in Film and many guest
appearances on TV, she subsequently began working in commercials, and began her recognized career as a voice actress in
commercials, Promos, and animation. Her characterization of She-Ra, Princess of Power has become an icon to little girls all over
the world. Her favorite hobby is riding and spending time with horses. She has successfully shown horses in the Hunter/Jumper
division .
